The Finnish Forest Museum Lusto is a destination for the entire family. The national forest culture museum is located in Punkaharju, in the midst of the most beautiful landscape of ridges and lakes in Eastern Finland.

Lusto’s various exhibitions offer surprising insights and different perspectives of forests for all ages. Permanent exhibitions present the versatile interaction between human and forest in Finland from ancient to modern times. Special exhibitions show off new points of view to different aspects of forest culture. Lusto’s constantly alternating selection of exhibitions makes it a place to visit time and again!

The Lusto region is an excellent environment for hiking, and it is the perfect year-round setting for culture, nature and conference visitors. You can also reserve Lusto’s versatile facilities and services and book guided tours for exhibitions, ridge area and the nearby Natural Resources Institute Finland’s research forest and arboretum.

Lusto arranges a series of events all year round. The whole family is welcome to observe our rare working methods and cultural nostalgia.

Museum shop Luston Puoti offers a vast selection of high quality Finnish forest-based products from textiles to natural cosmetics and sweet treats.

Lusto is easy to access either by car, bus or train. The Lusto train stop is only about 100 metres from the museum’s entrance.
